The iX’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Vistiq doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The iX has a standard PostCrash iBrake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Vistiq doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the iX’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Vistiq doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

The BMW iX’s optionalSurround View is available with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Cadillac Vistiq only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.

Both the iX and the Vistiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The iX’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Vistiq’s (12 vs. 6 years).

BMW pays for scheduled maintenance on the iX for 3 years and 36,000 miles. BMW will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Vistiq.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that BMW vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. With 4 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks BMW higher than Cadillac.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that BMW vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks BMW 13 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

The iX M70’s standard electric motors produces 35 more horsepower (650 vs. 615) and 161 lbs.-ft. more torque (811 vs. 650) than the Vistiq’s electric motors.

The iX has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Vistiq doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

The iX xDrive60 handles at .88 G’s, while the Vistiq Sport pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The iX M70 executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.1 seconds quicker than the Vistiq Sport (25.5 seconds @ .74 average G’s vs. 26.6 seconds @ .71 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the iX has a 1.6 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Vistiq (8.8 vs. 7.2 inches), allowing the iX to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The BMW iX may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 750 pounds less than the Cadillac Vistiq.

The iX is 10.1 inches shorter than the Vistiq, making the iX easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the iX uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Vistiq doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The iX has .6 inches more front headroom, 4.2 inches more front hip room, .5 inches more front shoulder room, .6 inches more rear headroom and 2.8 inches more rear hip room than the Vistiq.

The iX has a much larger cargo volume than the Vistiq with its rear seat up (35.5 vs. 15.2 cubic feet).

Maximum trailer towing in the Cadillac Vistiq is limited to 5000 pounds. The iX offers up to a 6834 lbs. towing capacity.

Laser headlights, optional on the iX, produce their light by firing blue lasers through phosphorus, a process that uses one-half the power of the Vistiq’s LED headlights. Laser headlights can have double the range of LEDs with a much smaller surface area.

The Vistiq’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The iX’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

The iX’s Parking Assistant can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Control Parking will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Vistiq’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
